Sarah Shinn Pratt
Sarah Shinn Pratt, Consulting Auctioneer, started her career in the decorative arts at Sotheby’s in 1981, after receiving a B.A. magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Mount Holyoke College, and an M.B.A. from U.C.L.A. Anderson Graduate School of Management. In 1986, after years of appraising and cataloguing decorative arts for Sotheby’s, she was appointed Vice President and Director of Sotheby’s Arcade Division. While continuing to catalog and appraise decorative arts, Sarah oversaw approximately thirty sales a year of fine and decorative arts. Trained as an auctioneer by the venerable John Marion, she conducted most of the sales in the Arcade Division and many specialty sales over the next eight years. In 1993, Sarah became Director of Sotheby’s Appraisals, North America. In 1994, she resigned to start her own business, the LeBaron Art Advisory Service, based in New York City, and now called LeBaron Antiques Trading based in Woodbury, Connecticut. She has participated as an appraiser on PBS Television’s “Antiques Roadshow” every year since the 2000 season.
Amory Armstrong Spizzirri
Amory Armstrong Spizzirri is a founding partner of Armstrong Associates, LLC a fine art and antique consulting business also specializing in residential interior design incorporating antiques and fine art. She was formerly a Vice President at Doyle New York where she headed their Client Services division and also worked in their Trust & Estates department. Before her six years at Doyle New York, she worked as a cataloguer at Sotheby’s in both the 19th century Furniture & Works of Art department and the Garden Statuary department. She received her BA in Art History from Hollins College and a Masters in Art Dealership & Collecting from NYU. She has been a recipient of Who’s Who in Young Professionals and Small Business Owners since 1999. Currently, she lives in Greenwich, CT with her husband and three children.
